FunLunchBox #182 - “Chicken Wraps”.  Heated up some left over frozen chicken and put it into a whole wheat wrap with some lettuce, LO sauteed carrots from dinner, and caesar salad sauce.  This reminded me of this image I found on my tumblr blog that linked to this site: inspiring-pictures.com.  Going away for the weekend with the women’s group at our church.  Gonna miss the little ones and dad of course… Have a great weekend, everyone! : )

A picture began circulating in November. It should be “The Picture ofthe Year,” or perhaps, “Picture of the Decade.” It won’t be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, youprobably would never have seen it.The picture is that of a21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is beingoperated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed withspina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother’s womb.Little Samuel’s mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner’s remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing atVanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs thesespecial operations while the baby is still in the womb.Duringthe procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes asmall incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed thesurgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developedhand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon’s finger. Dr.Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it wasthe most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant duringthe procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.Thephotograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editorstitled the picture, “Hand of Hope.” The text explaining the picturebegins, “The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armasemerges from the mother’s uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. JosephBruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.”LittleSamuel’s mother said they “wept for days” when they saw the picture. Shesaid, “The photo reminds us pregnancy isn’t about disability or anillness, it’s about a little person” Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and itis awesome…incredible….and hey, pass it on! The world needs to seethis one.

the last love letter on earth

utopiaisburning:

she had passed away hours before
her touch on his skin would be no more
eyes now shut, breathing seized
somber tears and his silent pleas
fill the room they called their home,
he picked up his quill for one last poem

the remaining blood in his heart
used as ink to spill his art,
i loved you every single day, he wrote
i’ll continue even after severing my hope

he blew the candle out,
spent his last hours in the dark
waiting for his blood to run dry,
so he could be with his lover once more and die

Think Me Strange: These Tears Burn Like Hell

These Tears Burn Like Hell
By Jean Roy

The secret wishes of my heart, left me blind.
Heart beats crippled with the hunger only love scars could leave behind.
Eternal suffrages of my love organs poisoned impurities.
Sweet sands of sorrow, mumble of denial and insecurity
Everlasting love, only…
